The Start of a Demonstration Experiment Targeting Foreign Tourists by Using Rental Cycle and Smartphone

OPEN INNOVATION LAB. starts a demonstration experiment targeting foreign tourists who are staying at hotels in the Shinagawa area. Tourists will be provided with a mobile app which informs them on obscure sights, landmarks, famous stores of shopping streets around Kyu-Tokaido Avenue Shinagawa-shuku and Tennozu Isle. The experiment is  jointly conducted by COGICOGI Co., Ltd., Shinagawa City, Keikyu Corporation, Daiichi Hotel Tokyo Seafort Hankyu Hanshin Hotels Co., Ltd. and us.

INNOLAB Exhibits at Ars Electronica Festival 2015

OPEN INNOVATION LAB. exhibits at the ARS ELECTRONICA FESTIVAL 2015, the world’s prestigious festival of media art to be held in Austria, Linz from September 3 to 7, 2015. We have created and will exhibit artwork that portrays images of a future city in which trees and people sympathize with one another. The Smile Mirror Signage Will be Put on Display at the School Backpack Try-on Event Booth of AEON

The smile mirror signage will be put on display at the school backpack try-on event booth of AEON at the "Enfant Summer Festival 2015" to be held this summer. The events will be held respectively at Nagoya on July 25, Tokyo on August 1, and Osaka on August 9. After choosing a backpack, if the child smiles and poses towards the smile mirror, a photo will be taken at once and generated into a postcard. Small toys will also be handed out to children. For those who request, there will also be a service where photos will be downloadable from the internet. Last year's "Enfant Summer Festival 2014" was a great success with people lining up at every venue. To those who are planning to visit, please do stop by our booth *The application period for visiting Enfant Summer Festival 2015 has already ended.

Appearing on Stage For Lecture by the Hosts of "SPORTEC 2015"

Mr. Morita will be appearing on stage for a lecture conducted by the hosts of "SPORTEC 2015," to be held at Tokyo Big Sight on Thursday, July 30. He will be speaking about the "Everyspo!" participatory experiments held at Osaki of Shinagawa district on March 2015, and also on future plans, during a panel discussion with hosts such as Naohiko Koutake of the Graduate School of Keio University. Release of Multiplayer Puzzle Game App "KANSEN Now! BATTLE"

Notification of Starting Research on Wearable Robotics, and Setting Up a Booth at DECODED FASHION Tokyo Summit 2015

As a project related to the research of futuristic urban planning, OPEN INNOVATION LAB. will be commencing research & development on wearable robotics, a tool which blends into future cities. For this project, we will be inviting an engineer who works as a Robotics Fashion Creator, Kyun_kun to be an external researcher. Also, through cooperative research with domestic and international institutions, we aim for this project to become a milestone for future plans. As a first step to our research & development project, we will be setting up a booth at DECODED FASHION Tokyo Summit 2015. A prototype of a wearable robot will be displayed. New Contents Added to the Interactive AR Theatre Currently Shown at GFO

New contents have been added today, Wednesday, July 1, to the "Interactive AR Theatre," a game which uses real-time motion detection, currently shown at the 3rd floor of The Lab of Grand Front Osaka. There will be 3 kinds of contents shown this time, where for example players can enjoy having a dance lesson with their teacher in a virtual atmosphere using motion detection. The games are open to everybody, so please stop by to try it out. *Displayed contents may change without prior notice.
